Bio...

Vincenzo Marino is an Italian contemporary artist who uses painting to explore the contradictions of modern society and the relationship between humanity, technology, and identity.

His work focuses on themes such as alienation, emotional disconnection, technological progress, and the universal search for meaning and connection. Through a figurative visual language enriched by symbolism and surreal atmospheres, he creates worlds suspended between reality and imagination, where solitary figures, astronauts, and metaphysical landscapes become metaphors for the contemporary human condition.

His paintings transform social observations and personal reflections into visual narratives that invite viewers to question the paradoxes of the present. While addressing isolation and the vulnerabilities of contemporary society, his work maintains an openness toward the possibility of change and growth.

Through evocative imagery and carefully balanced compositions, Marino creates contemplative spaces where personal reflection intersects with broader questions about the future of humanity.

Although his work portrays the alienation and fragilities of the present, it is ultimately rooted in the belief that awareness, empathy, and imagination can still open new possibilities for humanity's future.

About my work...

I paint to observe the world from a symbolic distance.

The astronaut frequently appears in my work, not as a hero of space exploration, but as a metaphor for contemporary humanity. It is a silent explorer moving through both physical and psychological landscapes, attempting to navigate technological progress, information overload, and growing emotional disconnection.

I am fascinated by the contradictions of our time. We live in an age of unprecedented communication, yet loneliness appears increasingly widespread. We possess extraordinary tools to connect with one another, but often struggle to understand ourselves and others. This tension between proximity and distance, between progress and disorientation, forms the foundation of my artistic practice.

Through suspended environments, silent spaces, and symbolic imagery, I seek to transform social and collective concerns into intimate visual experiences. I am not interested in providing definitive answers. Instead, I aim to create images that encourage questions, reflection, and personal interpretation.

The astronaut becomes a mirror. Behind the helmet is not a specific individual, but a shared condition: the need for belonging, the search for meaning, and the desire to imagine a better future.

Although my work addresses alienation and the vulnerabilities of contemporary society, it is not rooted in pessimism. On the contrary, it is driven by the belief that humanity still possesses the capacity to evolve, understand itself, and create new forms of connection.

Each painting is an invitation to pause, observe, and reflect on the world we are creating and the role we choose to play within it.
